Carlsbad Movers
Once a territory of both Spain and Mexico before becoming a part of the U.S., Carlsbad was named for a famous European spa. The history of Carlsbad is quite culturally diverse and was home to Diegueños and Luisena Indians before being populated by the Spanish.
In the 1800′s, the population of Carlsbad was only around 300 and it stayed small until water rights were secured with railroad money. Predominantly a farming community, fruit and flowers were planted once there was enough water to sustain them. A general store was opened around 1915 and then by the 1920′s Carlsbad had grown to having its own newspaper, churches, a movie theater and a school district. Near Camp Pendleton, the world was brought to the neighborhood of Carlsbad after Pearl Harbour, and the veterans returning from war were responsible for it’s post-war boom.
Today Carlsbad is a coastal resort with a population of 105,000+ people and is known for being one of the highest income communities in all of the United States.
