Escondido Movers
The city of Escondido, California elected it’s first public officials and was incorporated in 1888. Discovered in 1776 by Spanish explorer Juan Bautista de Anza, Escondido was first part of the Rancho Rincon del Diablo land grant bestowed to Juan Bautista, who divided it into small farm tracts where grapes and citrus fruits were grown.
Today Escondido is presided over by a Mayor and city council. It is located north of San Diego in a valley surrounded by hills, thus the name Escondido, which is Spanish for “hidden”. Escondido today, has a population of 143,911 and was rated as one of America’s most “conservative” cities. Education, health care, retail and construction are among some industries in Escondido. The downtown area has become quite active in recent years with the city putting on a popular show and viewing of hot rod cars, known as “Cruisin’ Grand”, which happens each Friday night between April and September. There is entertainment for adults and kids alike and trophies are awarded for different category winners who enter the show.
Tom Anderson, who co-founded MySpace, is a notable native of Escondido.
